Dabei werden die schulrelevanten Inhalte des Grundgesetzes, der Landesverordnung Rheinland-Pfalz, der ständigen Konferenz der Kultusminister der Länder mit ihren Beschlüssen und Bildungsstandards, die Lehrpläne und die Schulordnungen betrachtet. Die Struktur des Schulwesens in Rheinland-Pfalz wird beschrieben und die Schularten hinsichtlich ihrer Merkmale und Inhalte miteinander verglichen. Im Anschluss erfolgt ein tieferer Einblick in das Modell der Ganztagsschule in Rheinland-Pfalz. In offenen oder verpflichtenden Ganztagsschulen oder in Ganztagsschulen in Angebotsform findet zusätzlich zu dem regulären Unterricht in den vorgeschriebenen Fächern auch Nachmittagsbetreuung mit Projektarbeiten oder Arbeitsgemeinschaften statt. Durch das Ganztagsangebot soll eine fächerübergreifende Fach- und Sozialkompetenz vermitteln werden. Zur Erweiterung der Angebotsmöglichkeiten können Schulen oder Schulträger Rahmenvereinbarungen mit au erschulischen Kooperationsträgern eingehen. Der Kooperationspartner gestaltet dabei selbstverantwortlich und eigenständig ein Ganztagsangebot und führt dieses in der Schule mit geeignetem Personal durch. In den von der Konferenz der Kultusminister der Länder herausgegebenen Richtlinien zur Sicherheit im Unterricht wird der Begriff der Sicherheitserziehung verwendet. Die vorliegenden Arbeit beleuchtet den Begriff der Sicherheitserziehung und zeigt Beispiele im schulischen Kontext auf, die Sicherheitserziehung erforderlich machen. Dabei liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf den Anforderungen an erste Hilfe und Unfallverhütung, denen durch die Möglichkeit eines Schulsanitätsdienstes entsprochen werden kann.
