This book can be read alone or used for group classes. It's practical information with common sense ideas, gathered to help teens diagnosed with mental illness. You will find information on brain biology and symptoms, communications, problem solving and more. "What I did was put into a book all the information I wish my children would have had access to when they were diagnosed, "says Deborah Rose, the author. Included are real life experiences by Deborah and her family and activities for group settings.

Deborah is a lifetime entrepreneur. Her background consists of being an investigator, paralegal, mediator, life coach and a NLP Certified Masters Practitioner. Currently, Deborah is the owner of Investigative Solutions Group, Unlimited, a private investigative firm and also offers other services that can be found at deborahrose.com. Using a lifetime of experience and her incredible abilities as a public speaker and teacher has allowed Deborah to speak and teach, for the past thirteen years, to thousands of family members and professionals in regards to a very personal subject - mental illness. By doing so, Deborah is also sharing the needs of children and their caregivers when dealing with a mental illness. Deborah regularly appears at conferences and volunteers with organizations devoted to advocating for those with mental illness. Deborah has found that NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a firm foundation for everything she does, in both her personal and professional life. "I strive to do my best and NLP gives me more choices in life. More choices means better success. This makes me content with not just what I do but who I am." Many of the exercises in Deborah's books, classes and presentations are based upon NLP strategies. Using these same tools helped Deborah in parenting on own two children, both who were diagnosed with mental illness in their early teens. Deborah is a contributing writer to Chicken Soup of the Soul: Children With Special Needs. She is also currently writing children books that explain about different mental illnesses and how they affect the children and their families. Her first released publication, "Josh Wears a Red Cape" is available on Amazon. Also found on Amazon is a book to help parents communicate with teenagers called "You + Me = We". The list of books grows steadily with books of art by her children, poetry and more curriculum that fit the needs of parents dealing with difficult situations. Deborah lives in Texas, with her husband, Scott and her 3 Chihuahuas. Private investigations is Deborah's job. Helping people is her vocation.
