About The Author

Palumbo, Mary Lou: - Mary Lou Palumbo is a veteran broadcaster. She grew up in Bristol, RI, home of the nation's oldest Fourth of July celebration. Watching her father play trumpet in the parade was a cherished family tradition. Her childhood dog, Skippy, often found his way into the parade to join her father. The book was inspired by Mary Lou's love for her dad and Bristol's famous celebration. First published in 2008, this edition honors America's 250th anniversary and the loving memory of her father, George S. Correia. Mary Lou hopes Skippy's story reminds readers that with love and determination, dreams can come true!
