Lori A. O'Connell has lived in and around Chicago all of her life. She studied English Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Chicago. She worked in bookstores before developing a career marketing design firms. She wrote and performed in the one-woman show Tiny Tot Mystic, and has written under the pseudonym Anne Ruane. She is the author of My Husband's Toes, a haunting memoir of toes come alive, and the novel Nicky Chase: Man in a Fish Oil Pill.
