The development of smart anticorrosion coatings from biomass extracts is a promising approach towards eco-friendly and sustainable corrosion protection. The production of smart coatings from biomass extracts can be achieved using various deposition techniques, such as sol-gel process, layer-by-layer deposition, electrospinning, dip coating, spin coating, spray coating, and electrodeposition. Computational modeling can also be used to predict the properties of the coatings. In addition to providing excellent corrosion protection, the use of biomass extracts for smart coatings also promotes waste valorization and circular economy. These coatings are synthesized through green synthesis methods and can be used for environmental remediation purposes. Overall, smart anticorrosion coatings from biomass extracts represent a promising direction towards sustainable chemistry and environmentally friendly corrosion protection. Research efforts in this area, led by experts like Sarah Bill Ulaeto, have the potential to revolutionize the way we approach corrosion protection and contribute to a more sustainable future.
