Social Disorganisation covers university syllabi in Sociology in the papers of Social Disorganization, Social Disorganisation in India, Social Disorganisation and Welfare, etc. This book has been planned as a textbook for students and reference manual for teachers with analytic in presentation of matter drawn from authentic sources, holistic in interpretation and conclusions, examples drawn from Indian situations, and narration in simple language. The book has been divided in four parts. The first part on Social Disorganisation includes eight chapters covering deviance and anomie, social disorganization in India, personal disorganization, family disorganization, urban disorganization, degeneration in culture, corruption in Indian public life, etc. The second part on Deviance includes seven chapters covering crime, criminal tribes, white collar crime, juvenile delinquency, prostitution, suicide, alcoholism and drug addiction, etc. The third part on Social Problems includes sixteen chapters covering social problems, population problems, social tensions, casteism, untouchability and problems of minorities, problems of Hindu marriage, tribal problems, problems of urbanization, rural disorganization and problems, democracy and its problems, poverty, beggary, problems of industrialization, unemployment, labour problems, student unrest and youth tensions, etc. The fourth part on Reform and Welfare includes five chapters covering social-religious reform movements, labour welfare, rural reconstruction, national emotional integration, welfare of backward classes, etc.

Rajendra Kumar Sharma (b. 1962), M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., U.G.C. Research Fellow at Panjab University, Chandigarh (1985–1988), worked in I.C.S.S.R. Sponsored Project (1987) on ‘Overseas Indian Entrepreneurs in Kenya’. He is Life Member of Institutes (LMI) such as Indian Sociological Society, Uttar Pradesh Samaj Shastra Parishad, Indian Research Association, and U.P. Darshan Parishad. He is author of dozens of papers and books on Sociology, both in Hindi and English. Dr. Sharma has utilized his experience of teaching Sociology to post-graduate and undergraduate students for writing ideal textbooks, both in Hindi and English, on almost all the papers taught in this subject at Indian universities. He taught at N.A.S. P.G. College, Meerut (1987–1991). At present he is a Lecturer at N.R.E.C. (P.G.) College, Khurja, affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.
