Dieses Buch ist im wesentlichen aus einer zweisemestrigen Vorlesung mit den Abschnitten "Strukturierter Entwurf von Algorithmen der Proze -Automatisierung" (Einfiihrung in den Software-Entwurf) und "Proze -Automatisierungssprachen" (Software-Entwurfrur Realzeit-Systeme) mit Übungen entstanden. Sie wird von mir seit etwa sieben Jahren an der Universität Bremen rur Studenten der Elektrotechnik im 7. und 8. Semester mit dem Ziel angeboten, Realzeit-Software über ihren Implementierungs-Aspekt hinaus als integralen Bestandteil der Darstellung von Automatisierungsproblemen bzw. deren Lösungen zu vermitteln. Zu diesem Zweck hat sich der Software-Entwurf mit seinem zwischen der Anforderungs-Spezifikation und der Implementierung liegenden Abstraktionsgrad als geeignetes Instrument erwiesen, wobei neben den graphischen Darstellungsmitteln der Proze - automatisierungs-Sprache PEARL eine herausragende Rolle zukommt. PEARL ist in besonderem Ma e auf die Proze automatisiefUng zugeschnitten und stellt eine dem ingenieurmä igen Denken leicht zugängliche und genormte Begriffswelt zur Verrugung. Es kann nun nicht das Ziel eines solchen Buches sein, das als Bindeglied zwischen Theorie und Implementation verstanden werden will, Vollständigkeit anzustreben. Vielmehr müssen die wesentlichen Aspekte der Realzeit-Software als Bestandteil von Automatisierungssystemen an Hand von Anwendungs-Beispielen verdeutlicht werden, was hier im Sinne eines "Denkens in PEARL" geschieht. Dabei wurde bewu t davon ausgegangen, da z. B. zur Vervollständigung der Kenntnisse über die PEARL-Sprachkonstrukte der PEARL 90 -Sprachreport bzw. andere Bücher über PEARL herangezogen werden müssen, wie sie im Literaturverzeichnis angegeben sind. Andererseits kommt dies auch dem zur Verrugung stehenden Raum rur die graphischen Darstellungen zugute, deren relativ gro er Anteil mit zum Konzept und Ziel dieses Buches gehört.
