Sonnets From The Crimea is a collection of poems written by Adam Mickiewicz, a Polish poet, and published in 1917. The sonnets were written during Mickiewicz's exile in Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea, where he lived from 1826 to 1829. The collection consists of 18 sonnets, each of which reflects Mickiewicz's thoughts and emotions during his time in exile. The sonnets cover a range of themes, including love, nature, patriotism, and the human condition. Mickiewicz's writing style is characterized by his use of vivid imagery, metaphors, and allegories. The poems are written in the traditional Petrarchan sonnet form, consisting of 14 lines with a rhyme scheme of ABBA ABBA CDCDCD.
