Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Beruf, Ausbildung, Organisation, Note: 1,7, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Soziologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit ungefähr der Mitte der 70er Jahre wird auf Seiten der politischen, wissenschaftlichen und öffentlichen Meinung darüber diskutiert, ob sich der allgemeine Konsens, getragen von den Bürgern dieses Landes, bezüglich des Wohlfahrtsstaates der Bundesrepublik Deutschland im Zerfall befindet. Was sich Anfangs als zu einem gewissen Grad politisch instrumentalisiert erwies, zeigt sich heute, knapp 30 Jahre später, als reale Herausforderung an Politik, Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft. Mittlerweile kann man diese Diskussion noch um eine weitere wichtige Komponente erweitert betrachten, die sich zwar nicht konkret auf die Einstellung der Bürger zum Wohlfahrtsstaat bezieht, aber doch eine Thematik ist, die letztlich auch vom sozialstaatlichen Konsens getragen wird. Gerade in den neunziger Jahren ging es nun nicht mehr allein darum, wo sich die Bürger gegenüber dem wohlfahrtsstaatlichen Modell der Bundesre-publik Deutschland positionieren, vielfach ist in der heutigen Diskussion auch die Rede von einem möglichen Konflikt oder Krieg der Generationen, der letztlich in der Kündigung des Generationenvertrages durch die junge Bevölkerung enden soll. Beide Aspekte hängen zusammen, so dass es m.E. sinnvoll ist, beide Positionen in diese Hausarbeit einflie en zu lassen. Der erste Abschnitt dieser Arbeit beinhaltet einige einführende Bemerkungen zu den unterschiedlichen Bereichen, die sich auf den sozialstaatlichen Konsens und den Generationenvertrag im allgemeinen beziehen lassen. Im zweiten Abschnitt wird die Einstellung der Bundesbürger zum Wohlfahrtsstaat thematisiert. Im Mittelpunkt der Ausführungen stehen hierbei sowohl die Bedeutung der Legitimation des Wohlfahrtsstaates für das politische System, als auch die dafür notwendigen theoretischen Konzepte, die als Grundlage für die Bearbeitung
