Aber neben diesen offensichtlichen Namen gibt es wie üblich auch andere Filmemacher, an die man sich erinnern sollte und die gro e Filme gemacht haben. Ein Filmemacher wie Victor Erice zum Beispiel hat sich mit einem Meisterwerk wie Der Geist des Bienenstocks in die Geschichte des Kinos eingeschrieben. In Spanish Cinema: 1959-2014 analysiert Ricardo Luiz de Souza die in Spanien produzierten Filme mit dem Ziel, einige Strömungen des spanischen Kinos zu definieren und zu untersuchen, angefangen bei den Filmen von Buñuel, Saura und Almodóvar, aber auch weniger bekannte Filmemacher und Filme, die ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Kinolandschaft sind.
