Seine hier erstmals versammelten Artikel aus dem Hamburger Abendblatt beinhalten Überlegungen zum Hamburger Universitätsbetrieb der siebziger Jahre. Der Autor erläutert ferner das politische System des Landes ebenso wie das Verhältnis von Recht und Gerechtigkeit. Er nimmt Stellung zu machtpolitischen Entwicklungen in Deutschland, und auch internationale Konflikte sind immer wieder Thema seiner klugen und sinnigen Analysen. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden Überlegungen zur Wende- und Nachwendezeit. Die Interviews, die Ingo von Münch dem Hamburger Abendblatt gegeben hat, vermitteln einen lebhaften Eindruck der politischen Landschaft jener Jahre.

About The Author

Ingo von Münch, geb. 1932 in Berlin, war zuletzt Professor für Staatsrecht, Verwaltungsrecht und Völkerrecht an der Universität Hamburg. Gastprofessuren hatte er in Australien, Frankreich, Neuseeland, Südafrika und den USA inne. Seine bekanntesten wissenschaftlichen Werke sind der von ihm begründete und s. Zt. von ihm herausgegebene Grundgesetz-Kommentar und ein von ihm verfasstes zweibändiges Staatsrechtslehrbuch. Sein Völkerrechtslehrbuch erschien in Peking in chinesischer Sprache. Die Schrift "Rechtliche und politische Probleme von Koalitionsregierungen" (Berlin/New York, 1993) wurde ins Georgische, Polnische, Tschechische, Ungarische und Japanische übersetzt. Sein "Praktikum" im Staatsrecht führte Ingo von Münch in das Amt des Landesvorsitzenden der Hamburger FDP, in den Bundesvorstand der FDP und schließlich als Mitglied der von 1987 bis 1991 in der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg regierenden Koalition von SPD und FDP in das Amt des Zweiten Bürgermeisters und des Wissenschafts- und Kultursenators. Nachdem es bei der Bürgerschaftswahl von 1991 nicht gelungen war, die absolute Mehrheit der SPD zu verhindern, übernahm Ingo von Münch als Spitzenkandidat der FDP dafür die politische Verantwortung und zog sich aus der aktiven Politik zurück. Seitdem verfasste er mehrere Bücher, z. B. "Geschichte vor Gericht. Der Fall Engel" (Hamburg, 2004), "Rechtspolitik und Rechtskultur. Kommentare zum Zustand der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" (Berlin, 2011), "Frau, komm! Die Massenvergewaltigungen deutscher Frauen und Mädchen 1944/45" (Graz, 2009) und "Gute Wissenschaft" (Berlin, 2012).
