Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Warum Interaktions- bzw. Dialogspezifikation? Studien belegen, dass trotz ausgefeilter Tool-kits und GUI-Builder die Entwicklung der Benutzungsoberfläche noch immer bis zu 80% des gesamten Entwicklungsaufwandes einer Anwendung in Anspruch nimmt. Der Trend zu immer komplexeren graphischen Anwendungen lässt keine Reduzierung dieses immensen Kostenfaktors erwarten. Nimmt man zudem die mittlerweile arbeitsschutzrechtlich verankerten softwareergonomischen Grundsätze der Dialoggestaltung (DIN EN ISO 9241 Teil 10-18) hinzu, dann verschärft sich das Problem eher. Welche Vorschläge unterbreitet die Informatik, diesem softwaretechnischen Problem effektiv entgegen zu wirken? Ziel der Arbeit ist es, eine Bestandsaufnahme und Bewertung von Methoden zur Beschreibung von Dialogabläufen durchzuführen. Die Untersuchung wird mit dem Bestreben vorgenommen, Methoden zu finden, die für die Spezifikation von Dialogabläufen speziell in graphischen Benutzungsoberflächen geeignet sind. Gegebenenfalls sollen Verbesserungsvorschläge unterbreitet werden, sofern Schwächen bei den bevorzugten Methoden identifiziert werden können. Zu Anfang wird die besondere Charakteristik graphischer Benutzungsoberflächen bezüglich der eingesetzten Interaktionsformen und -techniken analysiert. Die Erkenntnisse münden in einem Anforderungskatalog an Dialogspezifikationsmethoden. Eine umfassende Aufbereitung und Bewertung der bekannten Dialogspezifikationsmethoden anhand des Anforderungskataloges führt zu einem ernüchterndem Ergebnis, das am Sinn und Zweck der Dialogspezifikation zweifeln lässt. Ma geblicher Grund dafür ist die inhärente Komplexität graphischer Benutzungsoberflächen. Eine ausführliche Diskussion dieser gewichtigen Zweifel folgt anstelle des ursprünglich gesetzten Ziels, identifizierte Schwächen bei den Methoden durch Verbesserungsvorschläge zu tilgen.
