After a career as a police officer Michael traveled to West Africa to serve as director of security and intelligence for US Embassy operations in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Gambia (West Africa) and for the NASA Space Shuttle Abort Landing site.. Michael returned to the United States after eight years in Africa to work as an international security consultant and firearms and street survival trainer for Armored Truck companies and private security companies . Following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, Michael worked for a time as a firearms and counter-terrorism instructor for various international security firms. He currently lives among the tall trees in the rain forests of the Pacific Northwest where he continues to write and ponder the meaning of life.
