Das vorliegende Buch entstand aus den Arbeitsunterlagen zu einem Statistik- Praktikum, das ich in den vergangenen Jahren mehrfach mit Studierenden der Fach- richtungen Mathematik, Informatik und Wirtschaftsinformatik sowie Studenten aus den natur- und ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Fachbereichen an der Technischen Hoch- schule Darmstadt durchgefuhrt habe, Das Praktikum wurde im zeitlichen Umfang von zwei Semesterwochenstunden vorlesungsbegleitend zur Statistik-Grundvorlesung, zu der das Teubner-Studienbuch LehnlWegmann: Einf'Uhrung in die Statistik erschienen ist, veranstaltet. Mit den von mir speziell fUr das Praktikum entwickelten Rechen- und Graphikprogrammen arbeiteten die Studenten an den IBM Personal Computern des Hochschulrechenzentrums, urn die in der Vorlesung erworbenen Kenntnisse zu vertie- fen, Bei der ersten DurchfUhrung des Praktikums mit den IBM PCs mul3ten die Prak- tikumsteilnehmer einfache Programme z, B, zur Berechnung von empirischen Lage- und Streuungsmal3zahlen oder zur Durchfuhrung der einzelnen Tests schreiben, Einige der Teilnehmer kamen mit dem Programmieren sehr gut zurecht, andere jedoch hatten dabei so grol3e Schwierigkeiten. dal3 die statistischen Verfahren z, T, in den Hin- tergrund gedrangt zu sein schienen, Diese Erfahrungen fuhrten zu der vorliegenden Version des Praktikums, bei der keine Programmiersprachenkenntnisse von den Teil- nehmern vorausgesetzt werden. Das Statistik-Praktikum besteht aus 13 Einheiten zur Beschreibenden Statistik, Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie und Schliel3enden Statistik. In zahlreichen Aufgaben (von unterschiedlichem Schwierigkeitsgrad) wird anhand realer Daten die sach- gemal3e Anwendung statistischer Verfahren und eine angemessene Beurteilung von Ergebnissen statistischer Untersuchungen geubt. Fur die me is ten Aufgaben werden die Losungen bereits in den einzelnen Einheiten in Bemerkungen angegeben und dis- kutiert.
