This book is the recreation of the 1880 and then the 1903 Presbyterian ladies of Liberty Missouri's Economy Cook Books, but we have included a little something extra. The ladies identified themselves and were listed under their married husband's name, and we knew next to nothing about them personally. Through careful research at the Clay County Archives we were able to identify most of them and therefore write their life stories. Please enjoy the pictures and biographies included. It is our hope that you have your own cooking adventure while you learn about cooking during the turn of the century. Please consider stirring up a little history of your own.

Cheryl McCann, Author Cheryl is a Midwestern girl at heart. She has lived in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri all her life, but never found a place that felt like home until she and her husband Terry moved to Liberty in 1992 to start their family. She is the active and proud mother of two children and has a long list of hobbies and interests that she tries to keep busy with. When not working on her projects and volunteering, she is the owner of McCann's Bookkeeping and Tax Service which she has run successfully since 2003 from a little office in her backyard, while raising her children. History, Ancestry and DAR became important to her about 5 years ago and since then she has started visiting the Clay County Archives to work on projects for the Atkins Johnson Farm and has now begun work on a history of Clay County women.
