Dr. (Mrs.) S. Murty is presently Professor and Head, School of Studies in Economics, Vikram University, Ujjain. Having been a Professor of Economics and then Principal in the Government and Post Graduate Colleges of Madhya Pradesh for over 24 years, she is in Vikram University since 1986. She has been the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Member Academic Council, Member Executive Council, Member of Different Faculties, Chairman Board of Studies in Vikram University and Member of Central and other University Board of Studies in Madhya Pradesh. She is the expert member of Research Development Committees of many universities. She has been the Resource person in many refresher courses for college teachers. She is a life member of Indian Economic Association, Indian Society of Agricultural Economic, Indian Society of Labour Economics, Computer Society of India and Madhya Pradesh Economic Association of which she has been the Vice President also. Fifteen research scholars have been awarded Ph.D. under her guidance. She has written books on Indian Banking, Advanced Banking, Regional Disparities in Economic Development, Changing Indian Economic Order, Structural Transformation of Indian Economy, Money, Inflation and Economic Growth and India’s International Trade and Rupee Exchange Rate. She has published and presented about eighty papers in various leading journals, seminars and conferences. Dr. Murty visited the United Kingdom under Young Scientist Exchange Scheme between India and United Kingdom. She has worked as Academic visitor in London School of Economics and Political Science, where she was accorded the status of Academic Staff. She has been in Oxford, Cambridge Lancaster, Leicester and Wales Universities. She has also visited U.S.A., Italy and West Germany. Dr. Murty’s name has been included in Biography International, 1993, Asia Who is Who, and Learned Asia.
