Eine im Bereich interkulturelle Kommunikation immer wieder vertretene Annahme ist, da interkulturelle Kommunikation problematisch ist, da hier die Gefahr von Mi verständnissen, die aus kulturell bedingten Unterschieden im kommunikativen Verhalten der Gesprächsteilnehmer resultieren, grö er ist als in anderen Formen der Kommunikation. Die vorliegende Arbeit differenziert diese Aussage, indem anhand von Mikroanalysen authentischer Dissenssequenzen aufgezeigt wird, wie Gesprächsteilnehmer in deutsch-dänischen Verhandlungen über nationale, kulturelle und sprachliche Unterschiede hinweg im Stande sind, selbst potenziell problematische Sequenzen zu meistern. Dies verdeutlicht, da es einer stärkeren Differenzierung des Feldes interkulturelle Kommunikation bedarf, um der Komplexität des Untersuchungsgegenstandes gerecht zu werden. Dies umfa t eine Differenzierung hinsichtlich der individuellen Voraussetzungen der Gesprächsteilnehmer ebenso wie eine stärkere Berücksichtigung der kulturräumlichen Aspekte. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung lassen ferner Rückschlüsse auf die Art der Kompetenz zu, die in interkulturellen Situationen notwendig ist, um erfolgreich kommunizieren zu können. Neben fremdsprachlicher und interkultureller Kompetenz ist in bestimmten Formen interkultureller Kommunikation, nämlich der zwischen nahkulturellen Verbindungen, die interaktive Kompetenz von entscheidender Bedeutung für das Gelingen der Kommunikation.
