Die Betrachtung aus Sicht des postkolonialen Forschungsgebietes soll das postkoloniale Potenzial der Bücher bestätigen. Der Fokus auf den Themenkomplex Subjekt, Subjektivität und Subjektivierung stellt die gesellschaftskritische Konstitution von Individuen heraus, denen bestimmte Kategorien zu- oder abgesprochen werden. Die Einverleibung bestimmter Denkmuster wird auf mehreren Ebenen erzeugt. Sprache, Wissenschaft und Politik bergen epistemische Gewalt, Wissen, welches sich in Gesagten und Ungesagten in Form eines Dispositivs niederschlägt und über die Ordnung der Gesellschaft bestimmt. Ordnungen, die aufrechterhalten werden, indem Abgrenzungen zu Anderen vorgenommen werden, um den eigenen Standpunkt zu bekräftigen. Die wiederkehrende Notwendigkeit der Abgrenzung als Zeichen der Brüchigkeit der konstituierten Ordnung und der Möglichkeit des Widerstandes.
