He served as an assistant professor of supply chain at International Maritime College Oman. Prior to that he worked as an assistant professor and head of Business Administration Department at Sudan University of Science and Technology. Also, he was Researcher at Hanken School of Economics, Finland. Abdelsalam has published books, chapters, and more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is an editorial board member in Scopus-indexed journals. His research interests lie in supply chain, Technology, strategy, practices, logistics operations management, and industrial marketing.
