Die Systemanalyse hat zunachst die Aufgabe, komplexe Systeme zu be- schreiben und ihr dynamisches Verhalten zu erklaren oder vorhersag- bar zu machen. Das geschieht durch den Entwurf eines abstrakten Mo- dells. Ein abstraktes Modell ist ein vereinfachtes, durch Abstrak- tion und Idealisierung gewonnenes Abbild eines realen Wirklichkeits- ausschnittes. Es muJ3 so aufg baut sein, daJ3 sich die wesentlichen Eigenschaften, Sachverhalte und Verhaltensweisen des Systems darauf abbilden lassen. Ein abstraktes Modell kann mit Hilfe der Simulation auf einer Re- chenanlage ablauffahig gemacht werden. Die auf diese Weise gewonne- nen Ergebnisse tiber das Modellverhalten lassen sich auf das ursprtingliche System zurtickUb rtragen. Das Einsatzgebiet der Systemsimulation ist sehr vielfaltig. Simula- tionsmodelle werden zur Untersuchung komplexer Systeme in o unter- schiedlichen Bereichen wie Medizin, Biologie, Psychologie, Okologie, Technik, Energiewirtschaft, Verkehrsplanung, Geologie, Soziologie, Betriebswirtschaft, Volkswirtschaft, usw. eingesetzt. Die Systems i- mulation erweist sich dami t als fachtibergreifende, alle fachspezi- fische Einengung tiberwindende, allgemeine wissenschaftliche Diszi- plin. In drei Banden soll ein umfassender Uberblick tiber die Leistungsfa- higkei t der Simulation gegeben werden.
