This book describes the characteristics of the five different disciplines of systems which are Systems Theory, Systems Science, Thinking in Systems, Systems Architecting, and Systems Engineering. The book discusses how they all relate to each other and form a synergistic set of disciplines.

Scott Jackson is a Fellow of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). He has written four books on systems engineering. He is a consultant for both Embraer of Brazil and Comac of China and was formerly with the University of Southern California (USC) and the Missouri University of Science and Technology (MST).

Ricardo Moraes is currently an Engineering Manager at Embraer, with experience in solution development and a focus on solution architectures and complex systems in sectors such as commercial aviation, executive aviation, and defense programs. He is also the president of the INCOSE Brazil Chapter.
