Một quyển từ điển thành ngữ đáng tin cậy để tham khảo khi sử dụng tiếng Anh là điều rất cần thiết, nhất là đối với những ai có nhu cầu thường xuyên sử dụng tiếng Anh trong giao tiếp, bởi vì chúng ta sẽ rất thường gặp phải những thành ngữ khác nhau mà ý nghĩa của chúng không dễ gì có thể đoán hiểu được.
Với nguồn tư liệu phong phú, quyển từ điển này đã tập trung được nhiều thành ngữ thông dụng của người Anh-Mỹ, cùng với cách giải thích rõ ràng và kèm theo rất nhiều ví dụ minh họa. Trong lần tái bản này, soạn giả đặc biệt bổ sung, cập nhật rất nhiều mục từ cũng như thêm vào nhiều ví dụ minh họa phù hợp với những thay đổi chuyển biến trong ngôn ngữ, nhằm mang đến cho người dùng một quyển từ điển hiện đại và có độ tin cậy cao.

Minh Tiến, Nguyễn: - Nguyễn Minh Tiến là một trong các dịch giả có rất nhiều công trình dịch thuật Anh-Việt thuộc nhiều thể loại khác nhau như y học, văn học, lịch sử, Phật học v.v... Hơn thế nữa, ông còn là một tác giả có rất nhiều tác phẩm đã xuất bản. Từ đầu thiên niên kỷ đến nay, đã có hàng trăm tác phẩm được chính thức xuất bản mang tên ông, trong đó có nhiều tác phẩm nghiên cứu, dịch thuật, biên khảo, hiệu đính... Ông không chỉ chuyển dịch các tác phẩm từ Anh ngữ mà còn là một dịch giả Hán Việt với các công trình dịch thuật đồ sộ như Kinh Đại Bát Niết-bàn (hiện đang giữ Kỷ lục Quốc gia), kinh Bi Hoa, Quy Nguyên Trực Chỉ, An Sĩ Toàn Thư... Các tác phẩm này đều đã có số bản in lưu hành lên đến hàng chục ngàn qua nhiều lần tái bản. Từ điển Thành ngữ Anh Việt (English-Vietnamese Idioms Dictionary) và Từ điển Thuật ngữ Chuyên ngành Báo Chí (English-Vietnamese Dictionary of Journalism) là những công trình được ông thực hiện và hoàn tất vào khoảng năm 2002. Mặc dù đã trải qua hơn 15 năm, trong thực tế vẫn chưa có công trình nào khác vượt qua được những quyển từ điển này về tầm vóc cũng như về phẩm chất. Lần tái bản năm 2017 này đã được chỉnh sửa bổ sung nhiều điểm mới, càng làm tăng thêm giá trị học thuật của các công trình này.
