Eine Katastrophe hatte die Welt von Tarris geändert und technische Errungenschaften waren nutzlos geworden. Dafür erhielten einige der auf Tarris lebenden Wesen neue Fähigkeiten und Sinne, die schnell als Magie bezeichnet wurden. Diese Magie war aber nicht nur nützlich, sondern hatte auch eine dunkle Seite, die die mit diesen Fähigkeiten gesegneten in bösartige Wesen verwandeln konnte, die nach Macht strebten. Dakaron, der sich über einen langen Zeitraum zu einem dieser sogenannten "Schwarzmagae" entwickelt hatte, begann, gewaltige Heere und magiebegabte Wesen unter seinem Befehl zu vereinen. Er hatte die feste Absicht, ganz Tarris zu versklaven. Das Bündnis der Erfahrenen leistete Widerstand und es kam zu einem Krieg zwischen Gut und Böse, der ganz Tarris überzog. Gewaltige Schlachten und hinterhältige Intrigen waren die Folge. Vier junge Magae verschiedener Rassen wurden dazu ausgebildet, mit der Hilfe von Artefakten mit besonderen Eigenschaften diesen Krieg zu beenden und sich Dakaron zu stellen.

Peter Padberg, geboren 1964 in Hilden in Deutschland, ist nach seinen Studien in Bonn in der Industrie in Marketing und Vertrieb beschäftigt, wobei er schwerpunktmäßig dafür verantwortlich war, neue Ideen und Vorgehensweisen für seine Mitarbeiter zu entwickeln. Dieses kreative Gestalten im Beruf kam nicht zuletzt dadurch zustande, dass er sich seit mehr als dreißig Jahren mit dem Genre Fantasy beschäftigt - und nicht nur als Leser. Inspiriert durch die Klassiker der High Fantasy, aber auch durch Bücher aus dem Science Fiction Bereich, begann er bereits vor Jahren mit dem Epos Tarris, dessen erster Teil nun fertiggestellt wurde. Da das Feedback auf den Roman überaus erfreulich ist, hat er den zweiten Band bereits begonnen.
