Gleich- zeitig jedoch wird, vor dem Hintergrund aktueller und potentieller Schadenswirkungen, ihr Einsatz zunehmend kritisch beurteilt; sowohl der technische Laie als auch der Experte fordern einen verantwortungsbewuB- teren Umgang mit der Technik. Technikfolgenabschatzung (T A) bietet die Moglichkeit, realisierbare technische Entwicklungen in der Vorausschau zu analysieren, urn un- erwunschte Auswirkungen zu vermeiden. Exakte Prognosen allerdings sind dabei nieht moglich; die vielfrutigen Einfiusse, die im Spannungsfeld von Offentliehkeit, Politik, Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zu beriicksiehti- gen sind, machen deutlich, daB TA bestenfalls verschiedene Optionen be- reitstellen kann. Wie weiterhin aus dem Anliegen und den Rahmenbedin- gungen von T A hervorgeht, kann nur ein interdisziplinarer Ansatz eine moglichst umfassende Abschatzung von Technikfolgen leisten. Ais Gestalter der Technik ist der Ingenieur beim Thema TA in beson- derem MaBe gefordert. Damit bereits in der Ausbildung zum Ingenieur die technische Sichtweise aufgeweitet und mit praktischen Erfahrungen erganzt wird, bietet die Universitat Stuttgart seit dem Sommersemester 1992 die Ringvorlesung TechnikJolgenabschiitzung (TA) an. Namhafte Referenten berichten in wochentlichem Turnus fiber verschiedene Aspekte der TA und stellen Ergebnisse aus TA-Projekten vor. Der vorliegende Band faBt die Vortrage, die im Rahmen dieser Ringvor- Ie sung bislang gehaIten wurden, zusammen. Er richtet sieh an aIle Interes- sierten, die sich einen Einblick in das Gebiet der Technikfolgenab- schatzung verschaffen und konkrete TA-Projekte kennenlernen mochten.
