1m Jahre 1948 erschien im H.ahmen der Schriftenreihe "Ausgewahlte Kapitel aus der Physik" von K. W. Fritz Kohlrausch Teil III "Warme", der den betreffenden Stoff der Vorlesungen iiber Physik an der Tech- nischen Hochschule Graz beeinhaltet. Zeitlich nach der Vorlesung iiber Physik wird an derselben Hoch- schule eine Vorlesung iiber Technische Thermodynamik gehalten, deren didaktischen Gedankengange seit 1920 unter den Professoren J. Mag g, H. List, E. N iederma ver und dem Verfasser entwickclt wurden. Das vorliegende Buch umfaDt im wesentlichen den Stoff dieser Vorlesung. 1m erst en Teil werden zunachst die allgemein giiltigen Gesetze und die Arbeitsmethoden der technischen Thermodynamik dargelegt und hierauf in getrennten Ahschnitten auf das vollkommene Gas, sowie auf die wirk- lichen Gase und Dampfe angewendet und in eine Form gebracht, wie sie fiir die spat ere Verwendung zur Berechnung und Untersuchung von praktischen Maschinen am zweckmaJ3igsten erscheint. Auf die molekular- theoretische Darstellung der Vorgange wird nur soweit eingegangen, als sie eine notwendige oder willkommene Hilfe fUr das Verstandnis der grundlegenden makroskopischen Begriffe und Zusammenhange bedeutet. Auf die Einfiigung von konkreten Anwendungsbeispielen wurde in diesem crsten Teil verzichtet. 1m zweiten Teil jedoch ist zur Schulung des "Thermodynamischen Denkens" clas Wesentliche jener Denkweise behandelt, deren sich cler praktische Ingenieur bei cler Berechnung, Entwicklung unel Untersuchung cler thermodynamischen Vorgange in \Varmekraftmaschinen bedient.
