Part of the Technology Across the Curriculum series, this full year course was written for both the classroom and the independent learner in mind. It contains everything students will need to succeed for school (and beyond) in file management, Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop, and HTML and coding. Students will also be exposed to ideas in science, math, art, ethics, history and popular culture. The book was designed for the non-expert or expert teacher to lead instruction for computer skills and science, as well as relevant academic and practical skills. Teachers do not need to be fully fluent in the computer programs and academic topics covered here because the step-by-step instructions contained in the books allow students to work independently once teachers give a brief explanation about each project's aim. Each aim is thoroughly explained in "The Task" section at the beginning of each chapter. Technology Across the Curriculum covers Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Coding, and concepts in computer science based on student experiences. When students learn basic keyboarding skills, they also learn how a keyboard works and, in effect, the computer science concepts behind an input and output devices, binary language, and coding. Students also learn academic and practical concepts that will enhance their learning, compliment their academic subjects, and also broaden their understanding of the "real" world with a focus on practical math, civics, and day-to-day living.

Danny deBruin has been teaching computer science and computer skills on the high school level for ten years. Before becoming a teacher, he worked as a journalist for a number of publications. He also is an award-winning editorial cartoonist and freelance writer whose works have appeared in Newsday, Cracked Magazine, the Long Island Voice, the Long Islander, the Huntington/Smithtown News, Personality Comics, and numerous other publications. As well, he has worked as an editor, desktop editor, and graphic artist in various graphics and publishing companies such as Quad Graphics, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, and Direct Press Modern Litho. He holds a Master of Science in Education from Molloy College.
