Als besonders dringlich wird hier das Problem der hausärztlichen Versorgung gesehen. Bis zum Jahr 2020 sollen etwa 24.000 Hausärzte, grö tenteils aus den neuen Bundesländern, das System verlassen. Auch die unzureichende Koordination der Versorgungsstrukturen stellt ein gro es Problem dar. Um die wachsenden Belastungen des Gesundheitssystems zu minimieren und die Qualität und Effizienz der gesundheitlichen Versorgung in Deutschland in Hinblick auf Multimorbidität und Komplexität von Krankheitsverläufen zu sichern, ist es notwendig, Versorgungsstrukturen weiterzuentwickeln und auszubauen. Eine mögliche Lösung für diese Problematik könnte der Einsatz von Telemedizin sein. Die Entwicklung in der Medizin- und Informationstechnik ermöglicht eine verbesserte Versorgung auch über räumliche Distanzen hinweg und kann unterstützend beim Austausch zwischen zwei verschiedenen medizinischen Leistungsbringern genutzt werden. Telemedizin kann sektorübergreifenden Daten- und Informationsaustausch ermöglichen und insbesondere in ländlichen Regionen dazu beitragen, Lücken in der ambulanten häuslichen Versorgung zu schlie en. Alles in allem bietet Telemedizin gro es Potenzial, Qualität und Effizienz im modernen Gesundheitsmarkt zu steigern. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Frage, ob es möglich ist, Telemonitoring als Teilbereich der Telemedizin am modernen Gesundheitsmarkt zu etablieren und damit in Zukunft Kosten für die Versorgung von chronisch kranken Patienten zu senken.
