Ten Years Late, is a motivational autobiography comprised of journals and stories made into a book following the life of a visually impaired individual from childhood to adulthood. Questioning the reasons why he became a college wrestler, all while divulging personal secrets and situations he faced while becoming a man. In addition to questioning everything else in his life, especially religion. This book depicts who a young boy was and who he slowly became, through gut wrenching, exciting, scary, dramatic and sexual experiences. Starting out as a young visually disable male living in an extremely dysfunctional family with a highly religious mentally ill mother, deceitful sisters, and a father without a voice, he navigated his way through life using the sport of wrestling and other experiences to his benefit. This book describes the experiences he had while going to a circus like church revivals, having to emotionally battle two of his older spiteful, jealous sisters and constantly dodge razors sharp shards of hot pieces of steel; that would explode out of his mother's mouth in the form of what his mother considered love and guidance. He depicts vivid memories throughout his adolescence and along with his first job as a nightclub bouncer. This book starts out with him lying in a hotel bed thinking about his childhood, continuing his memories to his present time, inspiring to continue on with a physical task of competing in the California state championship wrestling tournament. The book gives inspiration to all individuals, especially ones that feel uphill battles can't be won, that feel upbringing will dictate how a person becomes and can't be change. This powerful and emotional story will make the reader contemplate their own daily actions for the better. This book will serve as an inspiration to both individuals with and without disabilities. Also, be warned, it sheds light on the ramped deception and harmful effects of various religions on various societies. If you are a delicate reader, be fair warned there are descriptive instances of sex and violence throughout the book, that the writer could not omit or lighten. Coming to the realization, if did so, it would change or altered the effects of the story that is portrayed. In addition, there is descriptive details of murder and mayhem. He collected his memories and shuffle them into a book in an excellent manner, following a timeline from childhood to adulthood, you as the reader will be inspired and given some form of inspiration, and if not at the very least you will certainly be entertained.
