Este libro surge de la inquietud de los autores terapeutas ocupacionales y cientistas sociales de origen chileno y español, de dar a conocer nuevas experiencias en ámbitos vulnerables, donde la práctica de la terapia ocupacional no puede estar ausente, ni ajena en estos contextos, tal como la siguiente frase sostiene: "La terapia ocupacional constituye una práctica basada en posibilidades, que alcanza una práctica basada en la evidencia a través de la evidencia basada en la práctica".Sus dos capítulos vienen a intentar completar un vacío sobre el tema de los derechos humanos en Terapia Ocupacional, ya que se evidencia una escasez de material en el lenguaje español, sobre todo a nivel de la educación de los futuros terapeutas ocupacionales.Tanto sus conceptos teóricos como sus experiencias prácticas pueden ser llevados a dar pie al inicio de debates, los cuales permitan ir ampliando la información, y la motivación de otros colegas a mostrar y sustentar la evidencia en otros ámbitos, así crear y afianzar redes y diálogos responsables desde la perspectiva ética y política.A través de la lectura podemos observar 3 experiencias chilenas y dos españolas, en donde la terapia ocupacional, el rol del terapeuta ocupacional y la comunidad son protagónicos en diferentes contextos.La tarea de la terapia ocupacional continúa siendo el responder a las necesidades y el bienestar de todas las personas, a través de propuestas viables y sostenidas para todos, no obstante los terapeutas ocupacionales requieren de una evolución, de un mirar más allá del campo clínico para reconstruir y resituar lo ocupacional y sus intervenciones hacia lo social y lo colectivo.
