Francesca Chiara Robboni vive a San Giuliano Vecchio (AL). Si laurea presso il Politecnico di Torino, Facoltà di Architettura, con una tesi sul territorio agricolo e le architetture in terra cruda. Nel 2000 partecipa al Workshop presso il centro studi di Arcosanti a Phoenix Arizona, diretto dall'Arch. Prof. Paolo Soleri. Prende parte a numerosi convegni nazionali e internazionali sul tema della terra cruda. Collabora con il Politecnico di Torino alle ricerche regionali sul tema della terra cruda nei vari aspetti tipologici, del paesaggio, dei metodi di recupero e nelle risposte delle stesse ai sismi. Nel 2006 redige il progetto per la creazione di un Ecomuseo delle case in terra cruda in Provincia di Alessandria e al progetto pays.doc della Regione Piemonte vincendo la candidatura al Premio Mediterraneo del Paesaggio. Nel dicembre 2007, con il Patrocinio del Comune di Alessandria pubblica il libro: Terrarossa, le case di terra della Frascheta, Storia, Cultura e Paesaggio. Tra il 2008 e il 2009 sperimenta con la terra cruda intonaci e in collaborazione con il Politecnico di Torino effettua misure e monitoraggi climatici su edifici in terra battuta, per ricavarne dati tecnici a supporto della normativa. Nel 2008 è nominata membro onorario dell'Associazione Onlus La Frascheta di Pozzolo Formigaro (AL). Nel marzo 2009 entra a far parte dell'Associazione Onlus "Mattone su Mattone," partecipa alla costruzione di una casa in blocchi di terra cruda nel Paraìba, Brasile. In ambito della promozione del territorio alessandrino è convocata a comparire alla trasmissione di Unomattina (maggio 2010) dedicata al territorio rurale e alla figura dei Gradella. Consegue, per la ristrutturazione di una casa in terra battuta l'intero ammontare del finanziamento regionale ai sensi della L.R. n.2/2006 e per la stessa, insieme ad una seconda costruzione in terra segnalata, il Premio TERRAINCOGNITA 2011. Nel febbraio 2010 pubblica in collaborazione con gli architetti R.Mattone e M.Mattone, il volume: Il paesaggio delle case in terra cruda, edito dalla Regione Piemonte, nella collana Temi per il Paesaggio. Lavora inoltre come correlatore di alcuni tesisti del Politecnico di Torino, dell'Università degli Studi di Genova e di Napoli. Attualmente lavora alla ristrutturazione/restauro conservativo di edifici in terra battuta e non, si occupa di azioni di consulenza sul tema della terra cruda, della bioedilizia, alla raccolta di documentazione tecnica e fotografica.
