Héroes convertidos en villanos y viceversa. Impostores reciclados en genuinos conductores de los pueblos o improvisados funcionarios públicos alabados como estadistas. En resumen, en todas las latitudes, esas exageraciones existen y son -a veces- inevitables. Por todos esos motivos, he decidido los dramatis personae pintados en este libro y las circunstancias en que los conocí y frecuenté, son testimonio de primera mano que, contribuirá al lector a evaluar mejor su opinión sobre el tema, con lo cual habré logrado alcanzar mi aspiración de ser un acucioso observador de las trastiendas históricas.
