On the surface, these fun poems explore movie musicals with a dreamy sense of nostalgia for days long gone. Gann offers his sharp wit, and the poems open up beyond a simple yearning for the past to an exploration of contemporary American culture and the contradictions, beauty and complexity of everyday life. With crafted lines, sharp images, and a strong sense of musicality, these poems are as entertaining as they are insightful. Stroll down memory lane with Gann as these poems reminisce about first love, movie nights, southern life, and even spirituality. In every poem, there's more than meets the eye. Read these poems to be entertained. Savor them for their wisdom.
