The Adaptable Sustainable Psychology Collection

Reflective tools for self-exploration and supporting wellbeing - now and over time

Practical psychology for sustainable change in a world that doesn't slow down.

The Adaptable Sustainable Psychology Collection offers a grounded, real-world approach to mental and emotional wellbeing, one that recognises how people are shaped by experience, relationships, environment, expectations, and the stories they come to believe about themselves.

Rather than focusing on quick fixes or rigid techniques, this collection centres on emotional sustainability: supporting the development of self-knowledge, self-trust, and coping strategies that can be maintained over time, even under pressure.

This collected edition brings together four interrelated works:

  • The Subtle Injury of Influence explores how experiences, relationships, and media can quietly shape identity and self-perception, and how to engage with these influences more consciously.

  • I'm Getting There looks at the emotional and cognitive patterns that can make change difficult to sustain, offering a flexible, neuroscience-informed approach to growth.

  • Self-Improvement Burnout examines the impact of constant self-optimisation, and the importance of balancing growth with rest, reflection, and self-acceptance.

  • Steps Towards Kindness and Accountability focuses on communication, boundaries, and personal responsibility in building more sustainable relationships.

Together, these books form a cohesive and interactive framework for navigating modern life with greater clarity, compassion, and psychological integrity.

With over 40 practical exercises, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences, identify what is influencing them, and develop ways of supporting themselves that feel realistic, sustainable, and personally meaningful.

Meredith, Amberley: - I'm Amberley Meredith, a registered psychologist with more than 25 years of experience working across mental health, wellbeing, and psychological support services in the UK, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. From the interesting, and at times challenging, moments I've experienced across the course of my life, and after working so extensively with a diverse range of individuals, I've come to appreciate how illuminating it can be to ask thoughtful questions about our experiences. I have observed in both myself and others how subtle influences can shape how we see ourselves, influence our responses to stress, and affect our relationships, and that creating space for reflection without judgment can help begin the process of change.Adaptable Sustainable Psychology (ASP) grew out of an awareness that by understanding ourselves well, we become better placed to cope with life changes, navigate pressures, support change in our patterns, and navigate difficult experiences. With the ASP Collection, I wanted to bring together psychological insight, self-reflection, and practical strategies to support adaptation and emotional wellbeing in ways that felt realistic, compassionate, and sustainable over time.My clinical background includes work across acute care, community mental health, private practice, acquired brain injury, and eating disorders, alongside the development of trauma-informed retreats, psychoeducational workshops, and organisational wellbeing initiatives. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Health Psychology, and I have completed training across multiple therapeutic approaches. My writing draws on evidence-based psychological principles and practices, including neuroscience-informed and trauma-informed approaches, while aiming to remain accessible, relatable, and relevant to real-world experience. You can also find my writing and perspectives on mental health, emotional wellbeing, and modern life across a growing range of media and professional platforms. I greatly value opportunities to contribute to thoughtful conversations around influence, wellbeing, and psychologically informed reflection within the media and broader community.Through The Adaptable Sustainable Psychology Collection, my hope is to encourage readers to explore their experiences with greater self-awareness, gentleness, and psychological insight, while developing ways of supporting themselves that feel personally meaningful and sustainable.
