What happens if you break them? Blaise Hall is a government facility hidden in plain sight outside Liverpool, England in a little village called Hightown. At the outbreak of World War II, two scientists are brought there to build a time machine, a Barlow Bridge time machine. This is not an average time travel book. There is no handsome hero. There is a pretty mathematician, a Jewish assassin and B.B. Jones, our anti-hero. But it is war; how far would you go if you were pushed to breaking point?

D. S. Hodges lives in Cairns, Australia with his wife Angela. He is dyslexic and is owned by an old smoky grey and white cat. Or at least that's what the cat thinks. He has two children. The cat thinks it owns them too. Over the course of his life he has worked at numerous jobs: testing telephone equipment, as a baker in the family business, as a computer programmer (a very short and unsuccessful period of his life), in technical support, lecturing, as a business analyst and finally a project manager. He now writes full time, slaving each day over an old, worn keyboard watching words appear on his computer screen. The cat sits on a chair next to him, sleeping. The cat is very good at sleeping.
