Who was D. D. Palmer, and how did a teacher turned beekeeper find the inspiration to ignite a revolutionary idea that changed the face of health care? From humble beginnings, Palmer is remembered for founding the chiropractic profession, which is now practiced worldwide. But less is known about his story, from a childhood on the Canadian frontier to schoolmaster, horticulturist, and maverick doctor who gave birth to colleges of chiropractic in Iowa and other states from the Midwest to the West Coast. This masterful piece of historical fiction tells of a little-known passion of Palmer's-beekeeping-and how the allure of apiculture inspired one of science's most fascinating minds.

Brown, Myron: - Dr. Myron D. Brown has authored numerous scholarly and professional publications related to chiropractic. He speaks before groups nationally and internationally on various subjects, including leadership, education, and chiropractic philosophy. With an extensive background in education, administration, accreditation, and practice, he has led an accreditation agency, served as executive VP/provost of a chiropractic college, and is a professor of clinical sciences. He has also served on the Boards of Trustees of two chiropractic colleges. For the city of Rock Hill, South Carolina, he has been a board member of the Economic Development Corporation Board, the Catawba Area Coalition for the Homeless, and the No Room for Racism Committee. Brown is a past president of the Rock Hill Toastmasters Club. Brown enjoys the history of his profession, the development of chiropractic, and practicing in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Dr. Brown and his wife, Charlene, reside in Rock Hill.
