Dance and Romance

Shelly Tenrio is a successful Choreographed Ballroom Dance instructor recovering from a broken marriage to her teaching partner, Ray. Paul and Jean Zimmer are, as might be imagined, avid Cued Ballroom (Round) Dancers. They began dancing in 2011 and their enthusiasm remains undiminished. They share a common passion to tell the world about this wonderful activity. Paul, like Alan, is a computer chip designer. He has worked at several large companies, including Hewlett Packard and Cisco, as well as several start-ups. He currently works as a consultant. Visit him on the web at www.zimmerdesignservices.com. Jean trained as a speech therapist, but left the working world to become a full-time mom when their twin sons (not named Brandon and Matthew) were born. In addition to their twin sons, the Zimmers have a daughter. It is her thyroid cancer story that Matthew lives in The Bicycle Waltz. The Zimmers currently live in Roseville, CA, near Sacramento. They've traveled far and wide, and even lived overseas twice, but somehow always seem to come back to Sacramento. In 2017, they helped start a local non-profit dance club called The Sacramento Cued Ballroom Dance Club - "SacCued" for short (www.saccued.com). The goal of the club is to bring as many new people into Cued Ballroom as possible. In 2018, they joined forces with a group of dancers and cuers to create the "CBD Learning Library" youtube channel, which provides demonstration videos and educational materials for beginning dancers. The Zimmers hope that readers will be inspired to give Cued Ballroom Dance (Round Dance) a try. It really is the easiest and most enjoyable way to learn how to dance.
