Charles James O'Cahan O'Donnell's (1849–1934) was a work primarily revolved around his roles as a colonial administrator and politician. In India, he handled key issues like famine relief and tenant rights and served in roles such as Superintendent for the 1891 census. O'Donnell was critical of Lord Curzon's administration, especially the 1905 partition of Bengal, which he opposed. Upon returning to Britain, he became a Liberal MP, where he voiced criticism of colonial policies. He contributed to British-Celtic studies, commissioning the "O'Donnell Lectures." Though his work wasn’t concentrated on writing books, his legacy shaped political discourse and academic studies of Celtic and British history.
