This book challenges the reader to understand the importance of "the freedom of religion" concept granted by our forefathers, and further enumerates the agenda of the Christian-Right, and compares their behavior with the original life, work, and teachings of Christ The conclusions force us to see the Christian-Right as neither being Christ-like nor right (correct, ) a true oxymoron, in and of itself

Having degrees in both Political Science and Religion bring a special flavor to light for Scott, in trying to assess; both the need for religious liberty in the United States, and the attempts of the "Christian Right" to undermine religious liberty. His study of religion at the prestigious Hiram College in Ohio focused on the History of Christianity and other comparative religions. He has served in churches of the Christian Right for upwards of 7 years, and fully understands the militancy with which they operate. His study of the American Political Scenario, and of Constitutional Law also helps shed light on the importance of maintaining religious liberty and the separation of church and state here in the United States. As one who fully believes in the implementation of compassion, as exampled by both Christ and the Buddha, he uses a spirit of discernment to cut through the muck and mire of the Christian Right to point out their true nature and illuminate the many ways in which they have disregarded Christ's teachings and have instead returned to living by the Laws of Moses instead of living under the Grace of Christ.
