Eventually, Jackie must match wits with two unlikely friends. Iris Murphy-young, beautiful and socially awkward-has returned to Sweet Fields to revitalize her grandmother's home and reconnect with her roots. Belle Lynne Locke-recently widowed, sharp tongued and germaphobic-supports the moral code and history of her town and church both physically and financially, all behind a cloud of endless sanitizer and tins of gourmet teacakes. The two women connect at the town's heart, where everyone who's anyone congregates, St. Andrew Church. As the sweetness of Sweet Fields becomes tart, Iris and Locke work together to stay one step ahead of Jackie Black, who is determined to force herself into the delicate fabric of Sweet Fields and St. Andrew Church. But will one step ahead be enough to keep the fabric from ripping?

Hazel Lindey and Rosee Garfield are pseudonyms for Cicely Wilson and DiAnne Malone, respectively. These two college professors started creating humorous church and community scenarios as a way to decompress from everyday stressors. But then, the scenarios turned into stories of desperation and drama, community and pride, love and lasciviousness. The final scenario was "what if we wrote a book, just to see if we can do it?" Over a few months, those possible plots turned into an entire trilogy chronicling the lives of some very quirky inhabitants in the fictional town of Sweet Fields, Georgia. Both natives of small southern towns, Hazel and Rosee enjoy escaping the hustle and bustle of their busy lives to sit and enjoy the southern comfort of Sweet Fields. Hazel resides in a Chicago suburb with her husband, while Rosee resides in Memphis with her husband and three adorable children.
