About The Book

Anna, a middle-aged writer has brought up her daughter, Berta all alone. Berta has a single photo of her dad, that's all she's ever known of him, but now she's grown up it doesn't seem enough. She has a boyfriend called Hans, and as their relationship reaches crisis point, her need to connect with her father grows stronger. Hans works in a factory and has a sister named Clara. Clara is lonely, misunderstood, and has a bit of an obsession with this guy who rides a motorbike.
All these lives intertwine, but within them emerges the story of Anna Flieder, a woman who decides to write a novel based on her life. Her inspiration? The shadow of the man she abandoned all those years ago...
