Mention the word Rapture today and you get a much different reaction than when I first got on board with this term. Back then it was a real Blessed Hope, everybody I ever talked to about it, was a real blessing - in all honesty, it was the turning point of my life when I heard about it one summer night while we laid on our cars looking up at the stars when I was a teen - but alas, that isn't so today. Today, you take a real chance of getting in some heated arguments with other believers about it. A bunch of which no longer believe as most did around 1977; that one day, before the Tribulation, we would, in the twinkling of an eye, be gone and outta here, and so be ever with our Lord! Not so fast today, many think that they own the conversation rights on this topic to where no one who believes, as we all (and I'm speaking from my personal experience - that with other Christians) did at one time, in a rescue of gigantic proportions!!! Today, the joy and the hope is missing from that Blessed Hope and I hope to bring it back to those who will listen. For some years now my answer to the ever dogged question: Do you believe in a Pre-Trib or Pre-wrath Rapture has been ... Yes. Just what do I mean by that? I can see the Bible teaching 2 distinct Raptures and not one. Many see the one but do not see the other because they think the two are the same. You'll have to read inside for more, but I'll tell you right now that instead of proving by contorting verses to mean what they mean - but not to whom they mean it - I simply show by the Types in the Bible which one is meant for whom and when. The Bible has the answers and ... Ec 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
I'm just as curious an individual as you'll ever want to meet and certainly more curious than you'll ever want to live with. I kept asking my parents "why" and "how" and "where" and all of a sudden encyclopedias appeared on the bookshelves of which I spent many hours reading and exploring. I learned a lot more from those books than I ever did from school, but not as much as I have learned from the Bible. I have, over the years, developed a methodology to my study of The Book in that I have found that everything needed to explain it - is contained within it!!! How? By Types! The Bible is such a remarkable book that The Author has devised a way, through simple stories, to reveal what will really happen in the future. In the Bible is found a sure way to be able to know, despite the many theories and downright deceptions, the truth of the matter. Isn't that what we're all after? I like truth. For most of my life I have been honestly wondering what is going on. I have learned all that is and why it's that way doesn't really add up. I dismissed evolution by simple mathematics when I was just a youth and boy did I hear about that when my teachers found out! And no, they didn't sway me by their threats, they just made me think that they knew it wasn't so either; else why would they react so? The truth isn't bothered by a 6th grader's simple mathematical proof against a weak hypothesis ... but teachers who teach that weak hypothesis are. So, I've studied the Bible back and forth (literally); I've read a lot of commentaries and various authors - some popular, some not - taken notes and reviewed and thought; and despite all that, I've noticed some patterns in the word of God that I think are interesting, and think that others who have the interests would find noteworthy. Oh, and another thing: I love a mystery. I mean I'll think and think and think about it til I have it solved 7 ways to Sunday. In another occupation I use to make a living by it. I won't bore you with the details but I've solved some interesting little riddles in my work life. I also occasionally help people find things that they've lost and just can't find, and sometimes I even tell them that I'm helping them. Anyway, I do dearly love a mystery, and I am practiced in the art of deduction. That combined with the love of the word of God and the abilities that I possess with the precision of the English language ... well, they have a strange and wonderful result sometimes.
