The Duck Showed Up is a beautifully illustrated rhyming children's story. The main character of the story has a little duck showing up wherever he goes. To the delight of the reader, the end of the story solves the mystery of why the little duck shows up, and provides the happiest of endings bringing two new friends together.

Muscarello, Trish: - Trish Muscarello graduated from Valparaiso University and the University of Illinois with a degree in Medical Arts. She continued in the field of Medical Illustration, completing an Atlas in Oral and Maxofacial Surgery as well as anatomical exhibits for juried trials. While raising her four children, she continued teaching art enrichment classes in the elementary schools. She and her husband have traveled throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Egypt to experience new cultures, unique architecture and wonderful art. A love of the arts, drawing and painting have always been her life long passion. Trish currently spends winters in Arizona and summers in Illinois.

Van Kirk, Dorothy: - Dorothy Van Kirk is the author of Dusty the Christmas Star, her first published children's book (2012), illustrated by her two granddaughters in Australia. Dorothy was born in the Bronx and as a child, she always knew that she wanted to write children's stories. She loved all the books in the library that transported her into a world of fantasy and she wanted to do that for other children as well. The Duck Showed Up was written during the time that Dorothy and her husband were raising three children, Dorothy was finishing her degree at the university, and starting a new career in the bio-tech industry. She graduated from Colorado State University with her B.A. in French, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude. Dorothy took advantage of the many long flights to and from Australia to begin and to create some of her rhyming stories. She now resides in Colorado, still writing children's stories and tutoring French.
