The Dysfunctional Organization by Ron Emery is a look into many organizations and their reason for lack of competitiveness. Ron has worked with a number of medium to large organizations over the past thirty years and shares his experiences with the reader on how to make them more competitive. Some of the reasons for the dysfunctionality are beyond the organizations control while others are well within its grasp to change. This is a guidebook for those who want to uncover what might be wrong with most organizations today and how to address them with systemic actions that will allow for peak performance.

Ron Emery is a seasoned operations, global sourcing and supply chain professional. His focus has been on developing strategies to support business growth and cost efficiencies in a wide variety of industries. In his own consulting career Ron has led several projects focused on improving operational efficiencies for many clients. Ron has a tremendous passion for operational improvement and enhancing customer relationships. Ron's passions also roll into mentoring and teaching. He has spoken at various events for ISM and APICS and teaches in the MBA programs at several universities focusing on experiential learning and applied technologies. Ron has worked closely with companies on process improvement around material flow dealing with excess material and material management. He has served as a materials delivery manager with one of our major clients and has increased production from 60 to over 650 units per day by reducing bottlenecks and improving flow of materials to and from the production lines. He has a keen sense for process re-engineering leading to improved efficiencies. He has also led a team from his consulting group to improve clients on time delivery performance from its suppliers from 45% to nearly 98% in a three month period. Ron has also been responsible for global fulfillment, logistics, supplier engineering and quality control. He has developed organizational strategy to create global supply chain organizations and has built global teams to support the supply chain process. He has assisted in the installation of Oracle Warehouse Management System. Ron has developed training materials to change internal cultures and instill new progressive management values within an organization. Ron is experienced in contract negotiations in all transportation modes. Ron received his BA, Business and Economics from Hiram College in Hiram, OH and his MA, Materials Management from Antioch University in Yellow Springs, OH.
