Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2023 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Wirtschaftspsychologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: This bachelor thesis attempts to answer the research question of to what extent narcissism influences the success of transactional and transformational leadership of women. This question is relevant because although there is a lot of literature on gender differences in narcissism, gender differences in leadership styles, and the relationship between narcissism and leadership styles, there is no practical information on gender differences of narcissistic leaders in terms of leadership style. In this respect, direct literature comparisons and mergers are used in the answer. In doing so, it can be concluded that the influence of narcissism on leadership styles is influenced by gender and that women possess specific characteristics that enable them to meet societal expectations. They can be perceived as a traditionally feminine woman and a manager, such as having better emotional regulation and the ability to take perspective. In addition, women are better than men at leadership skills such as individual attention and conditional rewards. It also suggests that gender differences in leadership styles may be less pronounced in experimental settings or when gender-neutral selection criteria are used. Further empirical research is needed to explore these conjectures and their potential implications.
