She is a clinical psychologist with particular interests in the impact of neuropsychological memory deficits on everyday functioning and improving methods of neurorehabilitation. She was awarded an OBE in 1998 for services to medical rehabilitation, and is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Neuropsychological Rehabilitation.
