This third book in the thrilling Day trilogy, The Final Day: All Clear, brings the Winters family drama back into frame with further tragedy, newly uncovered secrets, and even more plot twists.
Following the family from the 1930s into the 1990s, this final book is strong enough to stand on its own, even if you haven't read the first two in the series. The story focuses on the current tragic disappearance of Matthew Winters's son, while weaving in the family's history of marriages, births, deaths, and disappearances.
When young James Winters mysteriously disappears off the coast of Maui during a family reunion, it initially appears to be a tragic accident. With no body and no evidence of foul play, the rescue team has to give up after the official three-day search ends unsuccessfully.
But back home, Matthew's detective friend Peter Sutherland isn't so sure that this is a random accident. And he's determined to investigate, even if what he uncovers is more bad news.
Meanwhile, Matthew's older sister Ruth, who's been in witness protection from the mob, watches her grief-stricken family on the news-and begins to wonder if it's finally time to come out of hiding.
Jennifer Taylor Wojcik has a penchant for studying Mafia history-particularly, how the mob has impacted American society over the years. Her love of research, paired with her skill in creating authentic, well-developed characters, led her to write the Day trilogy. The series of crime thrillers, From Day One, Day After Day, and now The Final Day: All Clear, follow the mob-afflicted Winters family as they seek justice-and simply try to survive.
A Kentucky native and graduate of the University of Kentucky, Wojcik's professional career spans advertising, marketing, and public relations. Her extracurricular endeavors include product design, home interiors, and musical performance. She also enjoys participating in philanthropic and church-oriented activities in Florida, where she currently lives.
