Sivils has in recent years become increasingly interested in the writings of such acclaimed crime noir authors as Raymond Chandler and Dasheill Hammett. Always a fan of science fiction, when Sivils decided to take the plunge and write his first work of fiction, The Predator and The Prey, it was natural to combine the two genres. Sivils long time wife Lisa tolerates his assorted obsessions, which include dogs, classic rock, and the history of North American Railroads. The pair are the proud parents of three children: Daniel, Katie, and Emily.
