Covenant is the soil in which every flower of Scripture blooms. Everything you find in the New Testament has its foundation in the Old Testament. The Old Testament points to the cross, and the New Testament points back to the cross. If the church loses the centrality of the cross, we have lost the focus of the gospel. The precedent is established in the Old Testament, and the application is made in the New Testament. The Old Testament is God's will concealed; the New Testament is God's will revealed. They go together to make a perfect gyroscope of the light of heaven that leads us to the perfection of heaven.
The human body holds more than 60,000 miles of blood vessels. Stretch them end to end, and they could wrap around the planet twice, with miles to spare. It's a staggering thought-inside every one of us lies a hidden highway system more vast than most cities could dream of. These vessels form the body's quiet transportation network: Arteries carry bright, oxygen-rich blood straight from the heart, delivering life to every organ and muscle. Veins guide the tired, oxygen-poor blood back home so it can be refreshed and sent out again.Capillaries, the tiniest and most delicate of all, weave between your cells like invisible threads. Inside you, an entire world is always moving, flowing, and working - An unseen masterpiece of engineering and life. Nutrients and waste trade places in a constant, miraculous exchange. Every second of every day, this intricate system keeps you alive -balancing temperature, delivering fuel, removing toxins, and maintaining the delicate harmony we call homeostasis. Inside you, an entire world is always moving, flowing, and working-an unseen masterpiece of engineering and life. Life is in the blood, and there must be life in the church. Many of us have viruses in our bloodstream right now, but you must have Jesus to remove the virus of sin from your bloodstream. If you have not gone to the cross, that deadly virus is in your body right now. Unlike AIDS, this virus will give you an eternal death doctor's report. The only solution is the blood transfusion from the cross. When we lift the brim of the communion cup to our lips, we symbolically take in the supernatural, life-giving blood into our being and body, which drives out the virus of sin and its deadly effects in our lives.
Jesus died at the age of thirty-three; our spine has thirty-three vertebrae, and the number isn't random: it's by divine design. The spine holds us up, just as Jesus was held up and carried the world for thirty-three years. We have twelve ribs on each side, like the twelve apostles and the twelve tribes of Israel. God literally built His covenant into our frame. The vagus nerve runs from the brain to the heart to the digestive system, and it calms our internal storms just as Jesus calmed the storm, and the sea became like glass. On the third day, Jesus arose, and science says that a three-day fast sparks cellular regeneration; the body literally renews itself and eats away the dead and broken cells. Our heart's rhythm, our tears chemistry, and our bones memory all reflect God's glory and divine design. God built His covenant within us.
"A kid named Richie loved colors. One day, he saw a rainbow in the classroom with a flaw; he saw six colors, not seven. What happened to them all? The choke-woke teacher replied, 'Six is the number, and six is enough. It's modern, and it's woke.' Richie, chuckled and confused and feeling lied to, asked his dad, 'Why does the pride flag have six colors bright, when the rainbow in the sky has seven colors in sight?'" The pride flag has six colors, which is the number of sin, and God's rainbow has seven colors, which is the promise and perfection. Therefore, God's perfected promise of the rainbow is still untouched.
