""The Gospel of Nicodemus"" is an ancient Christian text that tells the story of Jesus Christ's trial, crucifixion, and resurrection from the perspective of Nicodemus, a Pharisee who secretly believed in Jesus. The book was originally titled ""The Acts of Pontius Pilate"" and was written anonymously, likely in the early centuries of Christianity. It is divided into two parts: the first part recounts the trial and crucifixion of Jesus, while the second part tells the story of his descent into Hell and subsequent triumph over death. The book includes details not found in the canonical Gospels, such as the appearance of Jesus to Pilate's wife and the fate of the two thieves crucified alongside Jesus. ""The Gospel of Nicodemus"" is considered an important historical and literary work, shedding light on early Christian beliefs and practices.The Jews say to him, His blood be upon us and our children. Then Pilate calling together the elders and scribes, priests and Levites, saith to them privately, Do not act thus; I have found nothing in your charge (against him) concerning his curing sick persons, and breaking the Sabbath, worthy of death.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
