The Great Indian Religions offers a comprehensive overview of major religious traditions originating in India, including Brahmanism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zoroastrianism. The work covers sacred texts like the Vedas, Buddhist scriptures, and the Zend-Avesta, and explores the foundational philosophies, spiritual teachings, and cultural impacts of each faith. It also provides insight into lesser-known traditions like Sikhism, Jainism, and Mithraism. Designed for a general readership, the book contextualizes these religions' historical development and their role in shaping regional identity, spiritual practices, and philosophical thought, aiming to deepen cross-cultural understanding of India's diverse spiritual heritage.
